There is something to be said about a store full of $1 items. The lines move faster with no price checks for starters.
The folks at DollarTree.com say that very Dollar Tree store is stocked with endless hidden treasures! And that is true.Every store is alike yet, somewhat different in what they carry. Some stores even have a refrigerated case.
Rather than tell you about coupon codes (really, does it matter here?) and incentive programs, we are going to tell you the 20 items that you should be buying at DollarTrees.
- Batteries- they have name brand batteries such as Eveready. For a buck.
- Party Goods.
- Cards (ha! They are 2 for a dollar!)
- Toothbrushes (Oral b. @ our Walmart $2.96)
- Colgate (same one at Walmart $3.47)*
- Crest (Walmart price $2.72)
- Wisps (Walmart $1.74)
- Cough drops
- Foil- Reynolds Wrap 25 (50 at Walmart $2.36)

- Mylar balloons- inflated!

- Gum
- Some generics (learn how to read labels)

- Books (like $25 best sellers)

- Candy
- Glassware
- Cleaning items- stick to the brand names such as Spic and Span (yes, it’s there)
We can go on and on here….nail files, coloring books, tchatkis small gifts etc. Every store may have something different and there may be cool stuff there for seasonal purposes.
Here are 11 tips for shopping at the Dollar Tree.
- Ask yourself, is it really worth $1? Some things may not be.
- Some items may be of lesser quality, either learn to appreciate the lesson learned or deal with it.
- Check the dates on food.
- Read labels on drug items.
- If you are unsure, stick with the big names.
- Read their weekly ad online.

- We hit the Dollar Tree prior to going to the movies (they are in the same shopping center)
- Buy wrapping paper and bags at the Dollar Tree.
